The term "laser"
stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. A laser unit produces a single, uniform wavelength
of intense light that travels in one direction. Each laser has a specific wavelength of light which can be varied in
its intensity and pulse duration. The wavelength of a laser determines its effect and medical application. Each
specialized wavelength is absorbed by different tissues. For example, the vascular laser beam is absorbed by the red
